SKINOVAS 500 MG is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections such as acne vulgaris, respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, and skin and soft tissue infections caused by susceptible bacteria.

Pharmacology:
Doxycycline, the active ingredient in SKINOVAS 500 MG, is a broad-spectrum tetracycline antibiotic. It inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, preventing bacterial growth and multiplication.

Dosage:
Typically, 100 mg to 200 mg daily, divided into one or two doses as prescribed by the physician. The 500 mg dose is usually administered initially or in severe infections.

Administration:
Take orally with a full glass of water. Avoid lying down immediately after taking to prevent esophageal irritation. Can be taken with or without food, but avoid dairy products or antacids within 2 hours.

Interaction:
May interact with antacids, iron supplements, calcium, blood thinners, and other antibiotics. Inform your healthcare provider about all medications you are taking.

Contraindications:
Not recommended for children under 8 years, pregnant or breastfeeding women, or patients allergic to tetracycline antibiotics.

Side Effects:
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, photosensitivity, and mild gastrointestinal upset. Serious side effects are rare but may include allergic reactions or liver toxicity.

Pregnancy & Lactation:
Contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation due to potential effects on fetal bone and teeth development.
