Indications:

• Dandruff

• Seborrheic dermatitis

• Tinea versicolor

• Scalp fungal infections

Pharmacology:
Ketoconazole is an imidazole antifungal agent that alters fungal cell membrane permeability by inhibiting ergosterol synthesis. It is effective against dermatophytes and yeasts.

Dosage:

• Apply twice weekly for 2-4 weeks or as directed by a physician

Administration:

• Apply to wet scalp

• Leave on for 3-5 minutes before rinsing

• Avoid contact with eyes

Interaction:

• No significant drug interaction reported for topical use

• Avoid using other topical treatments concurrently unless advised

Contraindications:

• Known hypersensitivity to Ketoconazole or any component of the shampoo

Side Effects:

• Scalp irritation

• Itching, dryness or oiliness of hair

• Hair discoloration (rare)

Pregnancy & Lactation:

• Considered safe for use during pregnancy and lactation in topical form

• Avoid prolonged or excessive use
