Losan 25 mg contains Losartan Potassium, a selective Angiotensin II Receptor Blocker (ARB). Losartan works by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that causes blood vessels to constrict (narrow). By inhibiting this action, Losartan helps to relax and widen the blood vessels, which lowers blood pressure and makes it easier for the heart to pump blood.
Losan 25 mg is primarily used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and to protect the kidneys in people with type 2 diabetes and hypertension. It is also used to treat heart failure and to reduce the risk of stroke in people with hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy.
