Description
Miralin 5 mg contains Mirtazapine, a tetracyclic antidepressant classified as a NaSSA (Noradrenergic and Specific Serotonergic Antidepressant). It works by enhancing central noradrenergic and serotonergic activity through the antagonism of central presynaptic α2-adrenergic receptors and selective blockage of serotonin receptors (5-HT2 and 5-HT3), thereby increasing neurotransmitter availability in the brain.
It is commonly prescribed for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD), and may also be used off-label for conditions like generalized anxiety disorder, insomnia, or appetite stimulation.
