MYCEPT 250 MG is indicated for the prevention of organ transplant rejection (kidney, heart, liver) and for the treatment of autoimmune diseases like lupus nephritis.
Pharmacology:
Mycophenolate mofetil is an immunosuppressive agent that inhibits inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase, an enzyme critical for the proliferation of T and B lymphocytes, thus suppressing the immune response to prevent organ rejection.
Dosage:
Dosage varies according to indication and patient condition. Typically, 1 to 1.5 grams per day divided into two doses, or as prescribed by the physician.
Administration:
Take orally, with or without food. Consistent daily intake is essential for effectiveness.
Interaction:
May interact with antacids, cholestyramine, immunosuppressants, vaccines, and other medications. Inform your doctor about all medicines you are taking.
Contraindications:
Not recommended for patients with hypersensitivity to Mycophenolate mofetil, pregnancy, or severe infections.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea), increased risk of infections, leukopenia, and anemia.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
