Indications:
Used for muscle pain, joint pain, itching, insect bites, headaches, and nasal congestion.
Pharmacology:
Menthol is an organic compound from peppermint or other mint oils. It stimulates cold receptors in the skin and nasal mucosa (TRPM8), giving a cooling effect and mild analgesia.
Dosage:
Topical: Apply gently 2–3 times daily.
Inhalation: Add to hot water (2–3 drops) and inhale vapor or as advised.
Administration:
External use or inhalation only. Avoid eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes.
Interaction:
May increase skin irritation if used with other topical agents.
Avoid concurrent use with camphor-containing products.
