ESOME 20 MG is indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, peptic ulcers, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and other acid-related disorders. It helps reduce stomach acid production, promoting healing of the stomach lining and relieving symptoms like heartburn and acid regurgitation.

Pharmacology:
The active ingredient in ESOME 20 MG is esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It works by irreversibly blocking the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system (proton pump) in the gastric parietal cells, which reduces gastric acid secretion. This results in decreased acidity in the stomach and promotes healing of acid-related damage.

Dosage:
Typically, 20 mg once daily before a meal. Dose and duration depend on the condition being treated and doctor’s advice. Do not exceed prescribed dose.

Administration:
Take ESOME 20 MG orally, preferably 30-60 minutes before meals. Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew.

Interaction:
May interact with drugs like warfarin, clopidogrel, ketoconazole, and others affecting gastric pH or liver metabolism. Inform your healthcare provider about all medications you take.

Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to esomeprazole or other PPIs. Caution in patients with severe liver impairment.

Side Effects:
Common side effects include headache, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, and flatulence. Rare side effects may include vitamin B12 deficiency, magnesium deficiency, or allergic reactions. Seek medical advice if severe symptoms occur.

Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use during pregnancy only if clearly needed and prescribed by a doctor. Consult healthcare provider before use during breastfeeding.
