ESOPRA 20 MG is indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and gastric ulcers caused by excess stomach acid.
Pharmacology:
Contains Esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor that suppresses gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system in the stomach lining, leading to reduced acid production.
Dosage:
Typically, 20 mg once daily before a meal, with duration depending on the condition treated. Follow physician’s advice.
Administration:
Take orally, preferably before breakfast. Swallow tablets whole; do not crush or chew.
Interaction:
May interact with drugs such as clopidogrel, warfarin, diazepam, and certain antifungals. Inform healthcare provider of all medications.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Esomeprazole or other proton pump inhibitors.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include headache, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, and flatulence. Rarely, serious allergic reactions or kidney problems may occur.
