LOSA 50 MG is indicated for the treatment of hypertension, to reduce the risk of stroke in patients with left ventricular hypertrophy, and to slow progression of diabetic nephropathy.

Pharmacology:
Contains Losartan, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist that blocks the vasoconstrictor and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II, leading to vasodilation and decreased blood pressure.

Dosage:
The usual dose is 50 mg once daily, which may be adjusted according to patient response. Maximum recommended dose is 100 mg daily.

Administration:
Take orally with or without food at the same time each day.

Interaction:
May interact with other antihypertensives, potassium supplements, NSAIDs, and lithium. Monitor for hyperkalemia and renal function.

Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Losartan or during pregnancy.

Side Effects:
Common side effects include dizziness, fatigue, nasal congestion, and cough. Rarely, hyperkalemia or renal impairment may occur.

Pregnancy & Lactation:
Contraindicated during pregnancy. Use with caution during breastfeeding; consult your healthcare provider.

Therapeutic Class:
Angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB).
