VIGALON 0.5% Eye Drop is indicated for the relief of eye redness, irritation, and minor ocular inflammation caused by allergies or environmental factors. It works by constricting dilated blood vessels in the eye, reducing redness and discomfort.

Pharmacology:
VIGALON contains an alpha-adrenergic agonist which acts as a vasoconstrictor in the eye’s conjunctival blood vessels. This constriction reduces blood flow to the affected area, thus minimizing redness and inflammation, providing symptomatic relief.

Dosage:
Instill 1-2 drops in the affected eye(s) every 4 to 6 hours or as directed by the physician. Do not exceed recommended dose or frequency.

Administration:
Wash hands before use. Tilt head back and gently pull down lower eyelid to create a small pocket. Place the prescribed number of drops into the pocket without touching the dropper tip to the eye or eyelid. Close the eye gently and avoid blinking excessively.

Interaction:
Use caution if taking other ophthalmic medications. Avoid concurrent use with MAO inhibitors or tricyclic antidepressants, as systemic absorption might cause hypertensive effects.

Contraindications:
Not recommended in patients with hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation. Avoid use in patients with narrow-angle glaucoma due to potential increase in intraocular pressure.

Side Effects:
Possible side effects include mild stinging or burning sensation on application, dry eyes, blurred vision, or allergic reactions such as itching and redness. If severe irritation or eye pain occurs, discontinue use and consult a doctor.

Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use during pregnancy or lactation only if clearly needed and prescribed by a healthcare professional.

Therapeutic Class:

Storage Conditions:
Store at room temperature away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the bottle tightly closed. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after expiration date.
