This combination of Perindopril and Amlodipine helps manage blood pressure effectively, reducing the strain on the heart. By relaxing the blood vessels and improving blood flow, it helps prevent complications related to hypertension and heart failure, such as stroke, kidney problems, and heart attacks.

Pharmacology:
COVERAM 4/5 MG contains two active ingredients:

• Perindopril: An ACE (angiotensin-converting enzyme) inhibitor. It works by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a substance that narrows blood vessels. This helps to relax the blood vessels, reducing blood pressure and easing the heart's workload, which is especially beneficial in heart failure.

• Amlodipine: A calcium channel blocker that relaxes and widens blood vessels. By blocking calcium from entering the muscle cells of the heart and blood vessels, it lowers blood pressure and helps the heart pump more effectively.

Together, these ingredients provide a dual mechanism to lower blood pressure, improve circulation, and support heart function in individuals with hypertension or heart failure.

Dosage:
The typical dose for adults is one tablet (4 mg Perindopril / 5 mg Amlodipine) once a day, as directed by the doctor. Depending on the patient's condition, the doctor may adjust the dosage. Always follow the prescribed dosage and schedule for best results.

Administration:
Take COVERAM 4/5 MG orally, once daily, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the tablet.

Interaction:
COVERAM 4/5 MG may interact with other medications, including:

• Diuretics or water pills, which can increase the risk of low blood pressure.

• Potassium supplements or potassium-sparing diuretics, which may increase potassium levels in the blood.

• Other antihypertensive medications, which may cause blood pressure to drop too low when used together.

• Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which may reduce the effectiveness of ACE inhibitors.

• Certain medications for heart rhythm disorders, as they may interact with Amlodipine.

Contraindications:
COVERAM 4/5 MG is contraindicated in patients who:

• Are allergic to Perindopril, Amlodipine, or any other ingredient in the tablet.

• Have a history of angioedema (swelling of deeper layers of the skin).

• Have severe liver or kidney problems.

• Are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, as the medication can harm the fetus.

• Have narrowing of the aortic valve, certain types of heart disease, or severe low blood pressure.

Side Effects:
Common side effects include dizziness, headache, swelling in the ankles or feet, fatigue, and flushing. Serious side effects can include:

• Low blood pressure (hypotension)

• High potassium levels (hyperkalemia)

• Chest pain or irregular heartbeats

• Allergic reactions such as difficulty breathing or swelling of the face, lips, or tongue

Pregnancy & Lactation:

• Pregnancy: COVERAM 4/5 MG is contraindicated during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, due to potential harm to the fetus.

• Lactation: It is not known if COVERAM 4/5 MG passes into breast milk. Consult your healthcare provider before using this medication while breastfeeding.
