Indications:

• Essential hypertension (high blood pressure)

Pharmacology:
Natrixam combines two active ingredients:

1. Indapamide (1.5 mg) – a thiazide-like diuretic that reduces blood pressure by promoting sodium and water excretion.

2. Amlodipine (5 mg) – a calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels to allow smoother blood flow and lower pressure.

The combination offers complementary action: Amlodipine controls vascular resistance while Indapamide aids in fluid balance.

Dosage:

• One tablet once daily, preferably in the morning

• Dose should be individualized according to patient response

• Not recommended in children

Administration:

• Take orally with water

• Do not crush or chew the tablet

• Consistent timing (preferably morning) enhances effect

Interaction:

• Caution with other antihypertensives (risk of hypotension)

• May interact with lithium, NSAIDs, and potassium-depleting agents

• Alcohol may enhance blood pressure-lowering effect

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to Indapamide, Amlodipine, or sulfonamides

• Severe hypotension

• Cardiogenic shock

• Severe renal or hepatic impairment

• Pregnancy and lactation
