Pharmacology:
NATRILIX SR 1.5 MG contains Indapamide, a thiazide-like diuretic. It works by inhibiting the reabsorption of sodium in the kidneys, which leads to the elimination of excess sodium and water through urine. This helps reduce blood volume, lowering blood pressure. Indapamide also helps reduce edema by removing fluid that builds up in tissues. It is a modified-release (SR) formulation, which ensures that the medication is released slowly over time, providing a sustained effect on blood pressure and fluid balance.

Dosage:

• For hypertension, the usual starting dose is 1.5 mg once daily in the morning.

• For edema, the dose can vary based on the severity of the condition and the doctor’s recommendation.

Administration:

Interaction:
NATRILIX SR 1.5 MG may interact with:

• Medications that affect potassium levels (e.g., potassium-sparing diuretics or potassium supplements), leading to abnormal potassium levels.

• Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which may reduce the effectiveness of this medication.

• Lithium, which may have increased levels in the blood when taken with Indapamide.

Contraindications:
NATRILIX SR 1.5 MG should not be used by individuals who:

• Are allergic to Indapamide or any of the other ingredients in the medication.

• Have severe kidney problems or anuria (the inability to produce urine).

• Have low blood potassium levels (hypokalemia).

• Are pregnant or breastfeeding.

• Have a history of gout or increased uric acid levels.

Side Effects:
Common side effects of NATRILIX SR 1.5 MG include:

• Dizziness, lightheadedness, or headache, especially when standing up quickly.

• Nausea, diarrhea, or stomach discomfort.

• Muscle cramps or weakness due to electrolyte imbalances.
  Serious side effects can include:

• Hypokalemia (low potassium levels), which can cause muscle weakness, fatigue, and heart arrhythmias.

• Low blood pressure (hypotension), leading to dizziness or fainting.
  If you experience severe side effects, such as muscle cramps, unusual tiredness, or signs of dehydration, seek medical attention immediately.

Pregnancy & Lactation:
Pregnancy:
NATRILIX SR 1.5 MG is not recommended during pregnancy, particularly during the first trimester. It may harm the developing fetus. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
Lactation:
NATRILIX SR 1.5 MG is not recommended during breastfeeding as it may pass into breast milk and affect the baby. Consult your healthcare provider before using this medication while breastfeeding.
