Indications:
Peritop is indicated for:
Treatment of hypertension
Management of stable chronic heart failure
Prevention of cardiovascular events in patients with coronary artery disease
Pharmacology:
Perindopril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor that blocks the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, resulting in vasodilation and reduced blood pressure.
Dosage & Administration:
Usually 5-10 mg once daily, dose adjusted according to response
Take with or without food, preferably in the morning
Interaction:
May interact with diuretics, potassium supplements, NSAIDs, lithium
Monitor potassium levels and kidney function regularly
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Perindopril or other ACE inhibitors
History of angioedema related to previous ACE inhibitor treatment
Pregnancy and lactation
Side Effects:
Common: Cough, dizziness, headache, hypotension
Rare: Angioedema, renal impairment, hyperkalemia
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Contraindicated in pregnancy
Use only if clearly needed during lactation with medical supervision
Precautions & Warnings:
Monitor blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolytes
Avoid sudden discontinuation
Caution in renal impairment and bilateral renal artery stenosis
