Description
CARDOTEL 5/80 MG is a combination medication containing Amlodipine (5 mg) and Telmisartan (80 mg). Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker, and Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). This combination is commonly used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and reduce the risk of complications such as stroke, heart attack, and kidney damage. Amlodipine works by relaxing the blood vessels, making it easier for the heart to pump blood, while Telmisartan helps by blocking the action of a hormone that narrows blood vessels, leading to further dilation and a reduction in blood pressure. This combination provides effective control over blood pressure and can also be used to reduce the strain on the heart, particularly in patients with hypertension or heart failure.
