Pyrica 25 mg is a generic formulation of pregabalin, manufactured by Pharmasia Limited. Pregabalin is a gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) analogue that binds to the α₂δ subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system. This binding inhibits excitatory neurotransmitter release, thereby reducing neuronal excitability. Pyrica is primarily used to manage neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy and postherpetic neuralgia. It is also indicated as adjunctive therapy for partial-onset seizures and for the management of fibromyalgia.
