Floromox 0.5% Ophthalmic Ointment is an antibiotic eye ointment containing Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride, a fourth-generation fluoroquinolone. It is used to treat bacterial eye infections such as conjunctivitis (pink eye), keratitis (corneal inflammation), and blepharitis (eyelid inflammation). Moxifloxacin works by inhibiting bacterial enzymes (DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV), preventing bacterial DNA replication and leading to bacterial cell death.
