Lytex Syrup is a mucolytic agent containing Ambroxol Hydrochloride 15 mg per 5 ml, manufactured by Ibn Sina Pharmaceutical Industry Ltd. Ambroxol is a metabolite of Bromhexine and possesses mucokinetic and secretolytic properties, improving mucus transport and reducing its viscosity, thereby facilitating expectoration. It also stimulates the production of surfactant phospholipids in alveolar cells, contributing to reduced surface tension in the alveoli and improving airway patency. Additionally, Ambroxol exhibits anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities.
