Taglimet 50/500 Tablet is a combination of two oral antihyperglycemic agents—Sitagliptin and Metformin—used to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Sitagliptin is a Dipeptidyl Peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor that enhances insulin release and decreases glucagon levels in the blood, thereby improving blood sugar control. Metformin, a Biguanide, works by decreasing hepatic glucose production, reducing intestinal absorption of glucose, and improving insulin sensitivity by increasing peripheral glucose uptake and utilization .
