Indications:
Linax Plus is indicated for:

Management of hypertension (high blood pressure) in diabetic patients

Control of blood glucose in type 2 diabetes mellitus
-
Reducing cardiovascular risks associated with diabetes and hypertension
Pharmacology:
-
Losartan: An angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels, lowering blood pressure and protecting kidneys in diabetic nephropathy.

Metformin: A biguanide that reduces hepatic glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity, lowering blood sugar levels.
Dosage & Administration:

Usually taken once daily with or without food

Dose adjustment depends on clinical response and patient tolerance

Swallow tablet whole with water
Interaction:

May interact with potassium supplements or potassium-sparing diuretics (risk of hyperkalemia)

Alcohol and other antidiabetic drugs may increase risk of hypoglycemia
-
NSAIDs may reduce antihypertensive effect of Losartan
Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to Losartan, Metformin, or any component

Severe renal impairment or metabolic acidosis

Pregnancy and breastfeeding without medical advice
Side Effects:

Common: Dizziness, headache, gastrointestinal upset, cough, hypoglycemia

Rare: Angioedema, lactic acidosis, hyperkalemia
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Avoid use during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters. Use with caution during breastfeeding after consulting a doctor.
Precautions & Warnings:

Monitor blood pressure, blood glucose, kidney function, and electrolytes regularly

Use caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment

Avoid abrupt discontinuation
