Ancor 5mg is indicated for:
Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure)
Management of angina pectoris (chest pain)
Coronary artery disease and other vascular disorders
Ancor contains Amlodipine, a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker that inhibits calcium ion influx into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle, causing vasodilation and reduced blood pressure.
Typical dose: 5 mg once daily
Dose may be adjusted up to 10 mg daily based on response
Use cautiously in elderly and patients with hepatic impairment
Take orally with or without food, preferably at the same time daily.
May increase effects of other antihypertensives
Caution with CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., grapefruit juice, ketoconazole)
May interact with simvastatin increasing risk of side effects
Known hypersensitivity to Amlodipine or formulation components
Severe hypotension or cardiogenic shock
Obstruction of the aortic valve
Peripheral edema
Headache
Dizziness
Flushing
Palpitations (rare)
Use only if clearly needed and prescribed
Safety in pregnancy and lactation not well established; consult physician
Monitor blood pressure regularly
Use cautiously in patients with severe hepatic impairment or heart failure
Avoid abrupt discontinuation
