Fusithal is a topical ophthalmic antibiotic formulated with Fusidic Acid 1%, designed for the effective treatment of bacterial infections in the eye and surrounding structures. Its viscous gel-like consistency ensures prolonged contact with the eye surface, allowing sustained antibacterial action with fewer applications per day.
Fusidic acid works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, making it particularly effective against Staphylococcus aureus and other gram-positive bacteria. Fusithal is especially useful in treating superficial infections of the conjunctiva and eyelids.
