BILXEN 20MG Tablet is indicated for:
-
Treatment of allergic rhinitis (seasonal and perennial).

Management of chronic idiopathic urticaria.
Pharmacology:
Bilastine is a non-sedating, second-generation H1-antihistamine. It blocks histamine receptors, reducing allergy symptoms such as sneezing, nasal congestion, and skin itching without causing significant drowsiness.
Dosage and Administration:

Recommended dose: 20 mg once daily, taken on an empty stomach.

Avoid food or fruit juice intake within 1 hour before or 2 hours after taking the tablet.
Interaction:

Avoid concurrent use with ketoconazole, erythromycin, or diltiazem as they may increase bilastine plasma concentration.

Alcohol or CNS depressants may enhance drowsiness, though the risk is low.
Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to Bilastine or any excipient in the formulation.

Severe renal impairment with concomitant use of P-glycoprotein inhibitors.
Side Effects:

Common: Headache, dizziness, fatigue, nausea.

Rare: Increased liver enzymes, hypersensitivity reactions.
Pregnancy & Lactation:

Use during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the risk.

Limited data on lactation; consult a physician before use.
