VONOSIL 10 MG Tablet is indicated for:
Prevention of nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
Postoperative nausea and vomiting prevention.
The active ingredient, Ondansetron, is a selective 5-HT3 receptor antagonist. It blocks serotonin receptors in the brain and gastrointestinal tract, which are responsible for inducing nausea and vomiting.
Dosage: 10 mg before chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or surgery, as prescribed by a physician.
Administration: Take orally with or without food.
May interact with apomorphine, increasing the risk of hypotension and loss of consciousness.
Use with caution alongside drugs that prolong the QT interval.
Hypersensitivity to ondansetron or any of its components.
Congenital long QT syndrome.
Common: Headache, dizziness, and constipation.
Rare: QT prolongation, allergic reactions, or serotonin syndrome.
Use during pregnancy only if clearly needed and prescribed by a physician.
Ondansetron is excreted in breast milk; consult a physician before use while breastfeeding.
Monitor for signs of QT prolongation in at-risk patients.
Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment.
