Indications:
VONOSIL 20 MG Tablet is indicated for:

Prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Management of postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV).
Pharmacology:
The active ingredient, Ondansetron, is a 5-HT3 receptor antagonist that blocks serotonin receptors in the central nervous system and gastrointestinal tract, effectively reducing nausea and vomiting.
Dosage and Administration:

Dosage: 20 mg as a single dose before chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or surgery, or as directed by a physician.

Administration: Can be taken with or without food.
Interaction:

May interact with serotonergic drugs, increasing the risk of serotonin syndrome.

Use with caution with medications that prolong the QT interval or in patients receiving apomorphine.
Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to ondansetron or its ingredients.

Patients with congenital long QT syndrome.
Side Effects:

Common: Headache, dizziness, and fatigue.

Rare: QT prolongation, transient liver enzyme elevation, and hypersensitivity reactions.
Pregnancy & Lactation:

Should be used during pregnancy only if clearly necessary and prescribed by a doctor.

Breastfeeding mothers should consult a physician before use, as ondansetron may be excreted in breast milk.
Precautions & Warnings:

Monitor patients with electrolyte imbalances or those at risk of QT prolongation.

Use cautiously in patients with severe hepatic impairment.
