SUCRAMAX 200 ML Suspension is indicated for:
Treatment of active duodenal ulcers and gastric ulcers.
Management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
Prevention of recurrent ulcers in patients at risk.
The active ingredient, Sucralfate, is a gastroprotective agent that forms a viscous, adhesive barrier over the ulcer site. This barrier protects the ulcer from stomach acid and promotes healing by preventing further irritation.
Dosage: 10-20 ml suspension 2-4 times daily or as prescribed by a physician.
Administration: Take on an empty stomach, 1 hour before meals, and at bedtime. Shake well before use.
May reduce the absorption of certain drugs like digoxin, warfarin, and fluoroquinolones.
Avoid simultaneous use with antacids; allow at least a 30-minute gap.
Hypersensitivity to sucralfate or any components of the formulation.
Patients with renal impairment should use with caution due to the risk of aluminum toxicity.
Common: Constipation, dry mouth, and indigestion.
Rare: Allergic reactions or bezoar formation in the gastrointestinal tract.
Generally considered safe during pregnancy but should be used under physician supervision.
Use during breastfeeding with caution; consult a physician for guidance.
