EVOFIX 200 MG Capsule is indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections, including:
Upper respiratory tract infections (e.g., pharyngitis, tonsillitis).
Lower respiratory tract infections (e.g., bronchitis).
Urinary tract infections (UTIs).
Skin and soft tissue infections.
Cefixime, the active ingredient in EVOFIX, is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to the death of the bacteria. It is effective against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative organisms.
Dosage: The usual recommended dose is 200 mg once or twice daily, depending on the severity of the infection and as prescribed by a physician.
Administration: Swallow the capsule with water, preferably after meals.
May interact with anticoagulants like warfarin, increasing bleeding risk.
Concomitant use with aminoglycosides or potent diuretics may enhance nephrotoxicity.
Hypersensitivity to Cefixime or other cephalosporins.
Patients with a history of severe penicillin allergy should consult their doctor before use.
Common: Diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain.
Rare: Allergic reactions like rash, itching, or anaphylaxis.
