Indications:
Used for the treatment of superficial skin infections such as impetigo, folliculitis, and minor wounds caused by susceptible bacteria.
Pharmacology:
Neobetrin contains an antibiotic such as Neomycin or similar, which inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, leading to bacterial cell death.
Dosage:
Apply a thin layer to the affected area 2-3 times daily or as directed by a physician.
Administration:
For external use only. Clean and dry the affected area before applying the cream.
Interaction:
No significant drug interactions when used topically. Avoid using with other topical antibiotics unless advised by a doctor.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to neomycin or any component of the formulation. Not for use in deep wounds or serious burns.
Side Effects:
May cause localized skin irritation, redness, itching, or rash. Prolonged use may result in sensitization.
