Indications:
Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), duodenal and gastric ulcers, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and other acid-related disorders.
Pharmacology:
Rabenta contains Rabeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor that suppresses gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme in the stomach lining.
Dosage:
Typically 20 mg once daily, preferably before a meal, or as directed by a physician.
Administration:
Take orally with water, 30 minutes before meals. Do not crush or chew tablets.
Interaction:
May interact with drugs such as warfarin, ketoconazole, digoxin, and atazanavir. Monitor therapy accordingly.
Contraindications:
Known hypersensitivity to Rabeprazole or other proton pump inhibitors.
Side Effects:
Possible side effects include headache, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and dizziness.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly needed and prescribed by a doctor.
Precautions & Warnings:
Long-term use may cause vitamin B12 deficiency and increase risk of bone fractures. Monitor magnesium levels during prolonged therapy.
