Long Description:
Indications:
Used to treat respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin infections, sinusitis, and other bacterial infections sensitive to this antibiotic.
Pharmacology:
Amoxicillin disrupts bacterial cell wall synthesis. Clavulanic Acid inhibits beta-lactamase enzymes, preventing resistance by protecting amoxicillin from degradation.
Dosage:
Typically 1 tablet every 8-12 hours or as prescribed by the physician, depending on infection severity.
Administration:
Oral administration with or without food. Complete the full prescribed course to avoid resistance.
Interaction:
May interact with allopurinol, oral anticoagulants, methotrexate, and other antibiotics. Inform your healthcare provider about all medicines.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to penicillins, cephalosporins, or beta-lactamase inhibitors.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, rash, and allergic reactions.
