Indications:
Treatment of hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus where both conditions coexist and require combined therapy.
Pharmacology:
Amlodipine: A calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels and reduces blood pressure.
Metformin: An oral antihyperglycemic agent that lowers blood glucose by improving insulin sensitivity and reducing hepatic glucose production.
Dosage:
Typical dose is one tablet daily or as prescribed by the physician, based on individual patient needs and tolerability.
Administration:
Take orally with meals to reduce gastrointestinal side effects, preferably at the same time each day.
Interaction:
May interact with other antihypertensives, insulin or oral antidiabetics, contrast agents, and CYP3A4 inhibitors.
Contraindications:
Known hypersensitivity to Amlodipine, Metformin, or any component of the formulation; severe renal impairment, diabetic ketoacidosis, or metabolic acidosis.
