Indications:
Used for the treatment of hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus where combined therapy is necessary.
Pharmacology:
Amlodipine: A calcium channel blocker that relaxes vascular smooth muscles to lower blood pressure.
Metformin: A biguanide class oral antihyperglycemic that decreases hepatic glucose production and increases peripheral insulin sensitivity.
Dosage:
Typically one tablet once daily or as directed by the physician.
Administration:
Administer orally with meals to minimize gastrointestinal discomfort.
Interaction:
Potential interactions with other antihypertensives, antidiabetic drugs, iodinated contrast agents, and CYP3A4 inhibitors.
Contraindications:
