Elagox 150 mg contains Elagolix Sodium, a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) receptor antagonist. It is used primarily for the management of moderate to severe pain associated with endometriosis, a condition where tissue similar to the lining inside the uterus grows outside it, causing pain and other symptoms. Elagolix works by blocking the GnRH receptors in the pituitary gland, leading to decreased production of estrogen and progesterone—hormones that fuel the growth of endometrial tissue. By lowering these hormone levels, Elagox helps reduce the severity of endometriosis-related pain. The medication is usually taken once daily and is approved for use for up to 24 months, depending on the dosage and liver function.
