Description
Microlon is a combined oral contraceptive pill manufactured by Nuvista Pharma Ltd., containing Ethinylestradiol (0.02 mg) and Desogestrel (0.15 mg). It is primarily used to prevent pregnancy and regulate menstrual cycles.
Each pack contains 21 tablets, each marked with a day of the week to assist with daily intake. The regimen involves taking one tablet daily for 21 consecutive days, followed by a 7-day pill-free interval during which a withdrawal bleed typically occurs.
Microlon works by inhibiting ovulation (preventing the release of eggs), thickening cervical mucus to block sperm entry, and altering the uterine lining to prevent implantation. It also helps in making periods more regular, lighter, and less painful.
