Ferticab is a medication manufactured by Nuvista Pharma Ltd. containing the active ingredient cabergoline, a long-acting dopamine receptor agonist. It functions by inhibiting the secretion of prolactin, a hormone produced by the pituitary gland. Elevated prolactin levels can lead to conditions such as hyperprolactinemia, which may cause menstrual disturbances, infertility, or unwanted lactation. Ferticab is primarily used to suppress lactation after childbirth, stillbirth, abortion, or miscarriage, and to treat disorders associated with high prolactin levels.
