Description
Liana Tablet is a combined hormonal contraceptive designed for females of reproductive potential to prevent pregnancy. The recommended dosage is one tablet daily for 28 consecutive days: one pink active tablet daily for the first 24 days, followed by one white inert tablet daily for the remaining 4 days. If a pink active tablet is missed, it should be taken as soon as possible, and the next tablet should be taken at the usual time, even if two tablets are taken in one day. If two or more pink active tablets are missed in Week 1 or Week 2, additional non-hormonal contraception should be used until pink tablets have been taken for 7 consecutive days. If two pink active tablets are missed in Week 3, the missed tablets should be discarded, and a new pack should be started the next day. If one or more white inert tablets are missed, they should be skipped, and the regular dosing schedule should continue. In cases of vomiting or acute diarrhea within 3 to 4 hours after taking an active tablet, a new active tablet should be taken as soon as possible, within 12 hours of the usual time. Liana is contraindicated in females with a high risk of arterial or venous thrombotic diseases, current or history of hormonally-sensitive malignancy, hepatic adenoma or carcinoma, and certain other conditions. Common side effects may include bleeding irregularities, mood disturbances, headache, breast symptoms, dysmenorrhea, acne, weight gain, and decreased libido.
