Indications:
Bislol is indicated for the treatment of hypertension, angina pectoris, and chronic heart failure.
Pharmacology:
Bislol contains Bisoprolol fumarate, a selective beta-1 adrenergic receptor blocker that reduces heart rate, cardiac output, and blood pressure, improving cardiac function.
Dosage & Administration:
Typical dose: 2.5-10 mg once daily depending on patient condition.
Can be taken with or without food.
Dosage should be individualized based on clinical response.
Interaction:
May interact with other antihypertensive agents, calcium channel blockers, antiarrhythmics, and insulin.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in severe bradycardia, heart block greater than first degree, cardiogenic shock, and hypersensitivity to Bisoprolol.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include fatigue, dizziness, bradycardia, cold extremities, and gastrointestinal discomfort.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Excreted in breast milk; use caution during breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings:
Use cautiously in patients with respiratory diseases, diabetes, and peripheral vascular disease. Avoid abrupt discontinuation.
