Indications:
Bislol is indicated for the treatment of hypertension, chronic heart failure, and angina pectoris.
Pharmacology:
Bisoprolol is a cardioselective beta-1 adrenergic receptor blocker that reduces heart rate, myocardial contractility, and cardiac output, lowering blood pressure.
Dosage & Administration:
The usual dose is 5 mg once daily, adjustable based on clinical response. Can be taken with or without food.
Interaction:
May interact with calcium channel blockers, digoxin, antiarrhythmics, and other antihypertensive drugs.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients with severe bradycardia, heart block, cardiogenic shock, or hypersensitivity to Bisoprolol.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include fatigue, dizziness, headache, and cold extremities. Rarely, bronchospasm or worsening heart failure.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Caution advised during breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings:
Do not abruptly discontinue therapy. Monitor heart rate and blood pressure regularly.
