Indications:
Finix is indicated for the treatment of hypertension and to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events such as stroke and heart attack.
Pharmacology:
Finix contains Telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist that blocks the binding of angiotensin II to AT1 receptors, resulting in vasodilation and lowered blood pressure.
Dosage & Administration:
Typical dose: 20-40 mg once daily.
Dose may start at 20 mg and adjusted according to clinical response.
Can be taken with or without food.
Interaction:
May interact with potassium supplements, diuretics, NSAIDs, and lithium. Monitoring of potassium levels is advised.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in pregnancy, hypersensitivity to Telmisartan, and severe hepatic impairment.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include dizziness, headache, fatigue, and gastrointestinal discomfort. Rarely, hyperkalemia and hypotension may occur.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Contraindicated in pregnancy. Use with caution during breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings:
Regular monitoring of blood pressure and renal function is recommended. Use caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment.
