Indications:
Cildip is indicated for the treatment of hypertension to lower elevated blood pressure and reduce cardiovascular risk.
Pharmacology:
Cilnidipine is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker that inhibits calcium influx in vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle, causing vasodilation.
Dosage & Administration:
The usual dose is 10 mg once daily, adjustable based on response. Can be taken with or without food.
Interaction:
May interact with other antihypertensive drugs, CYP3A4 inhibitors, and grapefruit juice.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Cilnidipine or severe hypotension.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include dizziness, headache, flushing, and peripheral edema.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Caution advised during breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings:
Monitor blood pressure regularly. Use cautiously in patients with liver or kidney impairment.
