Indications:
RENOVA XR is indicated for:

Treatment of essential hypertension
-
Reduction of risk for stroke, myocardial infarction, and kidney damage related to hypertension
Pharmacology:
Olmesartan Medoxomil is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that selectively inhibits the binding of angiotensin II to AT1 receptors, leading to vasodilation, reduced aldosterone secretion, and lower blood pressure. The extended-release formulation provides stable blood levels over 24 hours.
Dosage & Administration:

Adults: Usually 20 mg once daily, can be adjusted up to 40 mg once daily based on clinical response.

Can be taken with or without food.

Swallow tablet whole; do not crush or chew.
Interaction:

Use caution with potassium supplements, NSAIDs, lithium, and other antihypertensives.

May enhance effects of diuretics and increase risk of hyperkalemia.
Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to Olmesartan or any component of the formulation

Pregnancy and lactation

Severe hepatic impairment
Side Effects:
Common: dizziness, headache, fatigue, hypotension.
Rare: hyperkalemia, renal impairment, angioedema.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Contraindicated during pregnancy. Use during lactation only if clearly necessary under medical supervision.
Precautions & Warnings:

Monitor blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolytes regularly.

Use with caution in patients with renal artery stenosis, heart failure, or dehydration.

Avoid sudden discontinuation.
