Escilex 5 mg is indicated for:
Major depressive disorder (MDD)
Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD)
Panic disorder
Social anxiety disorder
Escilex contains Escitalopram Oxalate, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) that increases serotonin levels in the brain, improving mood and anxiety symptoms.
Typical dose: 5 mg once daily, may be increased to 10-20 mg based on response
Taken once daily, preferably in the morning or evening
Take orally with or without food, at the same time each day.
Avoid concomitant use with MAO inhibitors
Caution with other serotonergic drugs due to risk of serotonin syndrome
Possible interactions with anticoagulants and antiplatelet drugs
Hypersensitivity to Escitalopram or any component
Concurrent use with MAO inhibitors or within 14 days of stopping MAO inhibitors
Nausea
Dry mouth
Insomnia or drowsiness
Sexual dysfunction
Increased sweating
Rare: serotonin syndrome, suicidal thoughts
Use only if clearly needed and prescribed
Consult physician before use during pregnancy and breastfeeding
Monitor for worsening depression or suicidal thoughts, especially in young adults
Avoid abrupt discontinuation to prevent withdrawal symptoms
Use cautiously in patients with hepatic impairment
