Description
Reluren 40 mg is a combination therapy tablet containing three active ingredients: Relugolix (40 mg), Estradiol (1 mg), and Norethindrone (0.5 mg). It is manufactured by Renata Limited and is primarily used for the management of heavy menstrual bleeding associated with uterine fibroids (leiomyomas) in premenopausal women. Relugolix, a GnRH receptor antagonist, works by lowering the levels of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), which in turn reduces the production of ovarian sex hormones, helping to control the symptoms of uterine fibroids. Estradiol, a form of estrogen, helps to mitigate menopausal symptoms like hot flashes and supports bone health by counteracting the estrogen-lowering effects of Relugolix. Norethindrone, a synthetic progestin, works alongside Estradiol to protect the endometrial lining from the potential adverse effects of estrogen. Together, these components offer an effective solution for managing fibroid-related symptoms such as excessive bleeding while maintaining hormonal balance. It is typically taken as one tablet daily, preferably at the same time each day.
