Indications:
Microgest 100 mg is indicated for:
Luteal phase support in assisted reproductive techniques (e.g. IVF)
Secondary amenorrhea (absence of menstruation)
Hormone replacement therapy in menopausal women (combined with estrogen)
Prevention of preterm birth in women with progesterone deficiency
Threatened or recurrent miscarriage associated with progesterone deficiency
Pharmacology:
Microgest contains natural micronized progesterone that is structurally identical to endogenous progesterone. It acts on the endometrium, preparing it for implantation and maintaining early pregnancy. It also balances the effects of estrogen on the uterus, thus preventing endometrial hyperplasia.
Dosage & Administration:
Pregnancy support / IVF: 100–200 mg daily in divided doses, vaginally or orally
Hormone therapy: 100 mg orally at bedtime for 10–12 days per cycle, with estrogen
Amenorrhea / miscarriage prevention: 100–200 mg daily
Vaginal administration provides higher local effect with fewer systemic side effects
Follow physician’s instruction for route and duration
Interaction:
May interact with CYP3A4 inducers/inhibitors (e.g., rifampin, ketoconazole)
Effectiveness may be altered with concurrent use of other hormone therapies
Alcohol and smoking may affect absorption
Contraindications:

History of thromboembolic disorders
