Abetis Plus 20 mg is indicated for:
Type 2 diabetes mellitus management
Patients inadequately controlled on diet and exercise alone
Combination therapy when monotherapy with Glipizide or Metformin is insufficient
Abetis Plus contains Glipizide, a sulfonylurea that stimulates pancreatic insulin secretion, and Metformin, a biguanide that decreases hepatic glucose production and increases peripheral glucose uptake. Together, they provide complementary mechanisms to lower blood sugar effectively.
As prescribed by a registered physician.
Typical dose: One tablet twice daily with meals, adjustable based on patient response.
Take orally with meals to minimize gastrointestinal side effects. Swallow whole with water.
Increased risk of hypoglycemia when combined with other antidiabetic agents or alcohol
Possible interactions with beta-blockers, corticosteroids, diuretics
Monitor for additive effects with other glucose-lowering medications
Type 1 diabetes mellitus
Diabetic ketoacidosis
Severe renal or hepatic impairment
Hypersensitivity to Glipizide, Metformin, or any components
Common: Hypoglycemia, nausea, diarrhea, headache
Less common: Allergic reactions, gastrointestinal upset
Rare: Lactic acidosis (Metformin), blood dyscrasias (Glipizide)
Not recommended during pregnancy or lactation. Insulin is preferred for glycemic control in pregnancy.
Monitor blood glucose regularly
Use caution in elderly, renal, or hepatic impaired patients
Educate patients on hypoglycemia signs and prevention
Combination oral hypoglycemic agents (Sulfonylurea + Biguanide)
