Indications:Feglo-FZ is indicated for the treatment and prevention of iron deficiency anemia, especially during pregnancy, lactation, adolescence, and post-surgery recovery. It supports hemoglobin production and overall hematologic health.
Pharmacology:Ferrous Ascorbate is a form of iron that is absorbed better in the presence of Vitamin C (ascorbate), helping in red blood cell formation. Folic Acid is essential for DNA synthesis and red blood cell maturation. Zinc supports immune function and cellular growth, aiding recovery and iron metabolism.
Dosage & Administration:The usual dose is one tablet daily or as directed by a physician. Should be taken after meals with a glass of water to avoid gastric discomfort.
Interaction:Absorption may be reduced by antacids, calcium supplements, or certain antibiotics. Should not be taken simultaneously with dairy products or tea/coffee.
Contraindications:Contraindicated in patients with iron overload disorders such as hemochromatosis or known hypersensitivity to any component.
Side Effects:May cause mild gastrointestinal discomfort, constipation, nausea, dark stools, or a metallic taste. Taking with food may reduce side effects.
Pregnancy & Lactation:Safe and commonly prescribed during pregnancy and lactation to support maternal and fetal health. However, should only be used under medical supervision.
Precautions & Warnings:Use with caution in patients with peptic ulcer or gastrointestinal disorders. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
