Cerox CV is a combination antibiotic manufactured by ACI Limited, comprising Cefuroxime Axetil (250 mg) and Clavulanic Acid (62.5 mg). Cefuroxime Axetil is a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death. Clavulanic Acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects Cefuroxime from degradation by beta-lactamase enzymes produced by certain bacteria, thereby extending its spectrum of activity.
