Description
Glycema 10 mg is a medication used to manage Type 2 diabetes mellitus. It contains Dapagliflozin as the active ingredient, which belongs to the class of drugs known as SGLT2 inhibitors. Glycema helps lower blood sugar levels by reducing the reabsorption of glucose in the kidneys, allowing excess glucose to be excreted through urine.
This drug is typically used in combination with other anti-diabetic medications when diet and exercise alone do not provide adequate blood sugar control. It may be prescribed alone or with other medications like Metformin to improve glycemic control.
The usual recommended dose is 5 mg once daily, which can be increased to 10 mg if needed, under the supervision of a healthcare provider.
