Indications:
Othera is indicated for the treatment of hypertension, alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents.
Pharmacology:
Olmesartan Medoxomil is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that inhibits vasoconstriction by blocking angiotensin II at AT1 receptors, reducing blood pressure.
Dosage & Administration:
The usual starting dose is 20 mg once daily, with or without food. Dose adjustments depend on patient response.
Interaction:
May interact with potassium supplements, NSAIDs, diuretics, and other antihypertensives.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Olmesartan or during pregnancy.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include dizziness, headache, fatigue, and gastrointestinal discomfort.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless advised by a physician.
Precautions & Warnings:
Monitor renal function and electrolytes regularly during therapy.
