Abetis Plus 40 mg is indicated for:
Treatment of essential hypertension
Patients not adequately controlled with monotherapy
Reduction of cardiovascular risk in hypertensive patients
This tablet contains:
Telmisartan: An angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels by blocking angiotensin II, lowering blood pressure.
Hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ): A thiazide diuretic that helps reduce blood volume by increasing urine output, enhancing the antihypertensive effect.
Usual dose: One tablet daily
Dose must be individualized by a physician depending on blood pressure control
Not recommended for initial therapy
Take orally once daily, with or without food. Take at the same time each day.
May enhance hypotensive effects with diuretics, other antihypertensives
May interact with NSAIDs, lithium, digoxin, and antidiabetic medications
Monitor potassium levels if combined with potassium-sparing agents
Hypersensitivity to any component
Pregnancy (especially 2nd and 3rd trimester)
Anuria or severe renal impairment
Dizziness
Hypotension
Increased urination
Muscle cramps
Electrolyte imbalance (e.g., low potassium)
Rare: rash, fatigue, elevated creatinine
Contraindicated during pregnancy, especially in later stages
Not recommended during lactation unless advised by a physician
Monitor electrolytes, renal function, and blood pressure regularly
Use cautiously in patients with liver or kidney disease
Avoid excessive sunlight due to photosensitivity risk from HCTZ
Not for use in children
